Domestic dispute turns deadly

A man shot his two young children and then himself in a domestic dispute in Orange County on Tuesday.

Before 5:30 on Tuesday, Indiana State Police report that 33-year-old Melissa Randolph and her husband, 37-year-old Jeremy Gehl were involved in a physical fight at their North Helm Street home in Paoli.

Officers say Gehl attacked Randolph with a knife, striking her multiple times.  After hearing the commotion, their 6 year old son and three year old daughter came down, at which time Gehl shot both children and then himself.  Another child inside was not harmed.

Gehl was dead at the scene.  Both children were taken to Kosair hospital in Louisiville, the three year old girl died at the hospital.  The boy was in critical condition.

Randolph was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital and later transferred to Kosair to be with her children.
