DCH CEO David Bixler

Hospital Chief addresses Rotary

Daviess Community Hospital is seeing strong growth in quailty ratings and is continuing to offer expanding services to the area.
That was the word from Davies Community Hospital's CEO, David Bixler  as he spoke at Wednesday's  Washington Rotary Club meeting.
Bixler says the Behavioral Health Unit had expanded by 50% and the unit is attracting patients from as far away as Evansville.  Bixler also discussed the expansion of the in-patient rehab and out-patient physical therapy services, including a unit serving Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon.  Bixler also told the Rotarians that the recent addition of several new physicians have bolstered the DCH medical staff. He announced a new general surgeon is expected to be on the full-time staff and move into the community in the middle of August.
Bixler said DCH had seen growth in patients using the pulmonary rehab and Sleep Disorder Diagnostic Units.  He added that programs like In-Quicker at the E.R. and the expansion of hours at the Quick Care have helped the hospital earn a recent quality rating of 92%.   Bixler said that while the current rating is good, DCH is working to do even better.
