Letter Carrier Food Drive

Letter Carriers across Indiana, including those from the Washington Post Office, have set May 10th to help “Stamp Out Hunger” with their 22nd annual food drive to benefit Indiana’s food banks.   John Triplett of the Indiana State National Association of Letter Carriers, says that more than 1 million Hoosiers, including 346,000 children, are unsure of where their next meal is coming from.   To help the letter carriers, on Saturday, residents are urged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable food items, including items like canned foods, pasta, or cereal, next to their mailbox at the time of their regular mail delivery.  Letter Carriers will collect these food donations and take them to regional food banks and emergency food relief agencies.
