South Knox Senior Receives Lily Foundation Scholarship

Tuesday, the Knox County Community Foundation announced the recipient of the 2014 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is Tanner Snider from South Knox High School.   He will receive a full-tuition scholarship to attend the Indiana College of his choice as well as a $900 per year stipend for required books and equipment. 
Tanner Snider, son of John and Tanya Snider of Vincennes, will be attending Indiana University and majoring in Business Finance.  During his years in high school, Tanner has been recognized for his academic and extra-curricular excellence.  He has been selected for the National Honor Society, Youth Leadership Knox County, class officer, several Academic teams, and Youth Inspiring Peers.  He also has been involved in Business Professionals of America, Student Council, 4-H, Teen Court, and yearbook staff.  Tanner is also a Teen Writer for the Huffington Post, state and world qualifier in barrel racing, and Business Professional of America state champion in extemporaneous speech, business meeting management and Advanced Interview skills.  
The Foundation has also named the following alternates:   Kirby Jones of North Knox High School and
 Colton Junod of Lincoln High School.  Lilly Community Scholarship Alternates will receive a stipend from the Knox County Community Foundation to recognize them for their achievements.
Kirby is the daughter of Mark and Penny Jones.  She plans to attend the University of Indianapolis and major in Occupational Therapy.   Colton is the son of Duke and Joanna Junod.   He plans to attend Butler University and major in Biology / Pre-Medicine.
