Messmer Files Candidacy for State Senate Seat in District 48

State Representative Mark Messmer, Republican from Jasper, announced he has filed the necessary paperwork to run for election in Senate District 48, which is composed of Pike and Spencer Counties and portions of Dubois, Gibson, Knox and Warrick Counties.
The seat is currently held by Democrat Lindel Hume of Princeton who announced last year that he would not seek another term at the State House.
Messmer says his experience in the House of Representatives has prepared him to serve in the Senate and continue to fight for the issues important to Southwest Indiana.”
Messmer, co-owner of Messmer Mechanical in Jasper, and since 2008, has represented House District 63, which includes portions of Daviess, Martin, Pike, and Dubois Counties.
