Volunteers Come From All Over to Help Washington

In the aftermath of Sunday’s tornado, volunteers flooded into Washington’s hard-hit Sycamore Street area early yesterday morning.   WAMW was at the Volunteer Center  at the Assembly of God Church on South Meridian Street, just five minutes after it opened at 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning, and already over 100 volunteer had signed in.  Others continued to arrive singly, in twos and threes, and in large groups.  Volunteer director, Anglea Quast told us what the volunteers were doing.

Volunteers worked in the area until around 6:00 p.m. last night and will back on the scene today.
The Red Cross was also on hand at the church where a relief center has been established.  The Plainville Christian Church helped by serving a hot lunch to the volunteers.
