Drug Take Back Day Set for Saturday

Saturday is Drug Take Back Day.  If you have unwanted or outdated medications around your house, don't throw them in the trash, or flush them down the drain.  Angela Quast with the Washington Wastewater Department says drugs put down the drain can affect the quality of the area's water..
The local Drug Take Back locations will also accept unwanted needles and inhalers.   Quast says there are two locations in Daviess County...

Quast also reminds everyone that there is a permanent drug drop box located in the lobby of the Washington Police Department.
The Indiana State Police also say Hoosiers can dispose of any expired or unwanted drugs by taking those drugs to their nearest Indiana State Police Post between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, and dispose of them in a designated receptacle, no questions asked.  However, unlike Daviess County, the State Police sites will accept only pills, capsules, and liquid medications.  The ISP will not accept needles.
