A Jasper man faces a Class 1 felony charge of aggravated battery, causing the death of a child, after his one-year old victim died at a Lousiville hospital Saturday morning.
Charles Hopf, 21, of Jasper was arrested early Saturday morning after the baby was brought to the emergency room at Jasper’s Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries, including severe burns to his face and brain trauma. The child’s mother had left the boy with Hopf, who police say was her boyfiend, while she went to work. Hopf was not the child’s fater Hopf is being held in the Dubois County Security Center.
