Daviess County Council agrees to 2% employee raise

The Daviess County Council has approved a 2 percent pay rise for full time county employees.

The Washington Times Herald reports the vote was 4 to 3 in favor of the raise.   The council had let two pay scale proposals die before accepting the 2 percent raise.

 

The county has 200 full time employees including the commissioners and council members.  The elected officials declined the pay raise for themselves.

Part time county employees will get a 3 percent raise but won’t be paid more than their full time counterparts. The newspaper reports that today th county auditor’s office is now reviewing the budget adjustments made at yesterday’s council meeting. A final approval is expected today.
