The Daviess County Commissioners heard Southwest Medical owner, Wayne Schuetz, voiced concerns about the Commissioners proposed ambulance contract at Tuesday’s meeting of the Daviess County Commissioner.  Schuetz questioned the letter of intent’s call for four ambulances; saying Southwest currently has four on duty and with two trucks on reserve.  Schuetz said he didn’t think four ambulances were adequate.   County Attorney Grant Swartzentruber said the letter of intent with Daviess Community Hospital called for at least 4 ambulances.  Ted Cline, who will manage the DCH operation, said plans were to have six trucks, with four staffed ambulances on call.

In other business, the Commissioners received bids for a new dump truck for the Highway Department.   County Attorney Grant Swartzentruber opened five bids ranging from $148,000 to $168,000.  The Commissioners took the bids under advisement.   And the Commissioners approved voting locations for the 2019 municipal primary election in May.  County Clerk Janice Williams said there have been no changes in the location of the polling locations.

The Commissioners also appointed Jamison Hibbs to the Visitors  Board.  Hibbs will replace Shelly Fuhs who resigned from the Board.
