Wednesday Afternoon Accident Near Cannelburg Injures 2 People

The Indiana State Police report that a Wednesday afternoon accident near Cannelburg injured two people. According to the State Police, 69 year old Donna Donovan of Loogootee was driving east on U.S. 50, when she fell asleep. Her 2013 Chevrolet Colorado crossed the center line, ran off the road, and continued 1200 feet through a farm field before stopping in a nearby driveway. Valerie Small of Jasper was driving westbound and ran off the road to avoid a collision with Donovan’s vehicle. Small’s 2011 Toyota mini-van rolled over when it left the roadway. Both Small, and her passenger, Ruth Bush, were taken by ambulance to the hospital in Jasper. The Cannelburg and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Departments assisted the State Police at the scene.
