Mary Louise Lentz, 101, of Loogootee, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at The Timbers of Jasper.

She was born March 13, 1917 in Cannelburg, Indiana to the late Joseph B. and Josephine (Arvin) McCann Williams.

Mary was a member of the St. Martin Altar Society and a quilter, greeter and funeral meal committee for St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She liked volunteering at the Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center when her health allowed. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Lentz, who she married May 25, 1939 and passed away August 29, 1984; son, Jim Lentz; granddaughters, Denise Michele Lentz and Amanda Lentz; great-granddaughters, Kinan Marie Lentz, Jaca Chrstine Lentz and Breana Dules; parents, Joseph B. and Josephine (Arvin) McCann Williams; siblings, Shelley, Dode and Adrian Williams, Lettie Strange, Annie McDonald, Ellen Burr, Earl and Raymond McCann and Margie Spalding.

Mary is survived by her children, Charles (Terri) Lentz of Orlando, Florida, Tony Lentz of Indianapolis, Linda (Ron) Mehne of Jasper and Nancy (Richard) Summers of Loogootee; daughter-in-law, Mickey Lentz of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Marcy Dules, Rob Lentz, Lisa Lentz, Eric Lentz, Knute Lentz, Jeff Mehne, Jill Weidenbenner, Amy Stevens, Aaron Summers and Ali Summers; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant, Fr. Joseph Erbacher at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
