DCH and WHS Work Simulation Project begins

      Forty students from Washington High School started a workplace simulation project at Daviess Community Hospital today.

   The 8 week long project is a partnership of DCH, Direct Employers Institute, and the Center for P-16 Research at Collaboration at IU.   The health-care industry led endeavor entails students learning about communicable disease.  Rhonda York and Dave Harmon are the teachers, York tell us more…

   It’s all about increasing student interest in STEM based subjects careers.  STEM is science, tech, engineering and math. The program that started today is very hands on.  It’s funded in part through a grant from the Smithville Charitable Foundation.
