The Knox County Courthouse was filled with activity yesterday as several filed to run in the May Primary Municipal Elections.
Democrat Mayor Joe Yochum filed to seek re-election. The Vincennes Sun Commercial says Knox County Republican Party Chair Linda Painter says her party will not declare a candidate for Vincennes Mayor.
Republican Cathy Lane filed for Vincennes City Clerk Treasurer. Current office holder, Sharon Meek is not seeking re-election.
Ryan Lough is running for Vincennes City Council District 5 where Tim Salters currently sits. Both are Republicans. Salters, is running again however he is seeking a City Council At Large seat.
Republican Ed Gornail is running for Vincennes City Council District 2. That seat was held by Democrat Jim Westfall who recently passed away. Knox County Democrats are working to get someone to fill out that term this year.
Republican John Stangle is running for City Council District 3 in Vincennes where Democrat Scott Brown currently serves.
Libertarian candidate Shane Lemier filed to run for City Council District 3 and Libertarian Bruce Johnson filed to run for City Council At Large.
