Former LHS Student Sentenced for Attacking Teacher

A former student at Vincennes Lincoln High School was sentenced for attacking a teacher at the school . Donovan Davis was initially charged with aggravated battery resulting in serious bodily injury after the May, 2016 incident.
Yesterday, Davis appeared in Knox County Court and was sentenced to nine years with the Department of Corrections.
At a hearing in August, Davis entered a guilty plea to attacking Vincennes Lincoln High School teacher Cheryl Clemons. According to reports, Davis hit Clemons with a chair several times and kicked her in the face. Clemons was left with severe PTSD.
Davis was initially sentenced to a year in prison, but had spent but with time served, that was reduced to 29 days in the Knox County Jail. After being released, Davis will serve 8 years on probation, two years of which will be spent on home monitoring. Davis will also be required to serve 100 hours of community service each year of his probationary period.
