Republican Washington City Councilman Jerry Sidebottom has announced his intentions to be the next Mayor of Washington.
Sidebottom said his 8 years on the council gives him experience and a detailed understanding of how local government works. He says he’s worked tirelessly for the city’s taxpayers and during his years on the council, streets and sidewalks have been improved and issues related to flooding have been resolved.
Sidebottom is retired from US Gypsum, currently drives for Williams Brothers Pharmacy and owns Sidebottom’s Auction services and Bouncy Bottoms Inflatables.
Sidebottom will be on the Primary Election Ballot in May with fellow Republican Diane Snyder who announced her candidacy for Mayor on Tuesday.
Current GOP Mayor Joe Wellman announced last month he will not seek re-election.
