Ellen Marie King, 90, passed away at 2:15 am on December 4, 2018 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. Ellen was born on June 9, 1928 in St. Louis, Mo the daughter of Lawrence A. and Jessie M. (Jackson) McCullough. She married Robert William King and he preceded her in death in 2003.
Ellen retired from Vincennes University as an English Professor. She attended First Presbyterian Church and later Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, Richard King and his wife Theresa Talarek of Vincennes; daughters, Lora Peters and her husband Tom of Vincennes Carolyn Hughes and her husband Kevin of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Andrew Peters, Elizabeth Peters, Jessica Kelley, Sarina King Criss, Adriana Hughes, Conor Hughes; great grandchildren, Maggie Peters and Abby Peters. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert King and sister Fern Maher.
Friends may visit with Ellen’s family from 2-3 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St. Ellens memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev.
