The Daviess County Commissioner received good news on Phases 4 and 5 of the County Road 900-East project.
County Highway Superintendent Phil Cornelius informed the commissioners that Phase 3 is pretty much complete and that the Indiana Department of Transportation has offered funds left over in the state budget to assist with payment of the preliminary engineering studies for phases 4 and 5.
The Commissioners agreed on a supplemental contract with INDOT and the federal government to reimburse the county 80% of expenses on the engineering study.
Construction of Phase 4 is expected to start in 2021. While construction of Phase 5 will start in 2024 if it gets approval from INDOT. Cornelius says after receiving the offer for funding of the engineering study, he’s confident Phase 5 will be approved.
