Harold Vaughn “Blue” Cox

Harold Vaughn “Blue” Cox, 77, Vincennes, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

He was born November 1, 1941 in Hazleton, Indiana to Harold Theodore and Frieda Marie (Wilkerson) Cox.

Harold had worked at Whirlpool for 11 years and took the apprentice program and became a journeyman welder and pipefitter of Plumbers and Steamfitters #136 of Evansville in 2000 where he was a member for 40 plus years and had also worked in the maintenance department at Good Samaritan Hospital. A member of the Community United Methodist Church, his other memberships included Patoka Columbia Masonic Lodge # 450   of which he was a Past Worshipful Master, and a 50-year member, Hadid Shrine Temple, Past President of the Hadi Shrine Funsters of which he was a white face clown for 30 plus years, Lawrenceville Moose # 779, Vincennes Elks # 291, Vincennes Gun Club, and the Wabash Valley Bass Fishing Club. An avid fisherman, Harold fished professionally on the Everstart Bass Master’s Tour in many tournaments in Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, Canada, and Kentucky. Harold was an avid golfer most recently at the Country Club of Vincennes Senior league and also enjoyed playing pool in Lawrenceville. Harold and Rose Ann loved to travel as they went to Europe twice, Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, all over the United States, and many Caribbean cruises together. Harold also was an avid sports fan, attending many professional football, baseball, and basketball games.

Surviving are his wife, Rose  Ann (Wishon) Cox, whom he married on May 16, 1981; his children, Sherri Gee and her husband, Louis of Elberfeld, and Anthony Cox of Princeton; a sister, Dorthy Douglas and her husband, David of Patoka; his grandchildren, Stacey Jackson and her husband, Eric, and Courtney Gee and her fiancé Tyler Dowling;  a great grandchild, Terrayl Jackson; a sister in law, Susie Collins and her husband, Gary of Clinton; his nieces, Kristina Collins Riggle and her husband, Robert, and Kimberly Mahoney and her husband, Michael; along with several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Downing officiating. Burial will follow in the Bicknell Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral
home.
