Cleta “Deanie” Arlene Gentry 93, of Washington, IN went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was born in Pike County to the late Lawrence and Ida Mae Willis (Fine).
Deanie had a zest for life and made friends everywhere she went. She attended Petersburg High School and after being married moved to Washington. Deanie was a life-time member of the Petersburg VFW, the Washington Legion, and a member of the Moose Lodge of Washington. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with the girls.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and also enjoyed various church activities.
Deanie leaves behind; 3 sons, Wilford Sherman, Larry Sherman, and Dean Gentry (Cindy Tharp); 5 grandchildren, Kerri Collison, Jeff Sherman, Brian Sherman, Kris Williams, Tony Sherman; 10 great-grandchildren, Garrett Collison, Rachel Collison, Jordan Sherman, Mitch Sherman, Olivia Sherman, Amber Cook, Abby Bratton, Shane Williams, Briley Williams, A.J. Sherman; 10 great-great grandchildren; and 5 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, Kenneth Allen Gentry; 3 sisters, Eloise Cannon, Elva Evans, Velma Arnold; and 2 brothers, Edgar and Edison Willis.
A service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Faye Bilskie officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be at Sugarland Memory Gardens. www.gillsince1872.com
