State Police collect 2k lbs and local police over 200 lbs of unwanted meds

The Indiana State Police report that they took in over 2,000 pounds of unused, or expired medication Saturday as part of National Drug Take Back Day.  Collection points were set up at all Indiana State Police Posts except for the toll Road.

    The Jasper Post took in 224 pounds while the Evansville post took in 225.

    Locally, Washington Assistant Police Chief Trent McWilliams told the Washington Times Herald –(www.washtimesherald.com)-that 128 pounds were dropped off at the department and nearly 107 pounds were taken to the Sheriff’s Department.  Another 39 had been put in the drop box outside police headquarters Saturday. That box is there 24/7 all year long.
