According to the latest unemployment numbers, Daviess County has the 3rd lowest unemployment rate in the state. The lowest jobless rate remains in Dubois County. Dubois has 2.1% unemployment while Daviess is at 2.3%. Dubois is tied with Adams County for the lowest and Daviess County is tied with four other’s including Gibson to be ranked 3rd.
All area counties have dropped 8 to 4/10ths lower than a year ago.
Pike County is at 2.9, Martin at 2.5, Knox at 2.8 and Greene is at 3.8. Sullivan is at 4.1
The state’s unemployment rate is 3.5%.
