Deadline approaching for schools to get metal detectors

State Senator Eric Bassler of Washington, a member of the Senate’s School Funding Subcommittee and Education and Career Development Committee,  reminds area schools that Friday is the deadline to order handheld metal detectors.

The Governor and Indiana Department of Administration recently announced a 2nd chance for schools to order the devices.  The program makes one handheld metal detector available for every 250 students in a school building.  Since July, over 3000 have been requested by 370 school buildings. That includes 94% of all traditional public school corporations.

Bassler says schools interested in ordering the devices can contact info@k12indiana.com by 5pm this Friday.
