William “Bill” Lannan

William “Bill” Lannan, 85, of Loogootee, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born January 5, 1933 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late Joseph J. and Mary L. (Melton) Lannan. He was raised on the family farm in Daviess County into a family of fourteen children.

Bill married Barbara S. (Nicholson) Lannan on December 27, 1956 and she survives.

He was previously engaged in farming and was involved in many other business ventures. He was secretary-treasurer of Lannan Farms, Inc.

Bill was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 732.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. and Mary L. Lannan; son, William Scott Lannan; sisters, Catherine Gilley, Mary Arney, Rose Butler-Arney and Carolyn Clements; brothers, Donald, Thomas, Daniel and James Lannan.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara S. Lannan; daughters, Brenda (Norbert) Burch and Alice Adye; son, James (Jackie) Lannan; grandchildren, Tiffany (Brady) Lingenfelter, Ryan (Ellen) Burch, Tara (Brooks) Ranard, Gabrielle, Sophia and Vivienne Lannan; great-grandchildren, Grace, Emma and Holden Lingenfelter, Austin, Olivia and Henry Burch and Beckett Ranard; sister, Wilma (Bill) Sinnott; brothers, Paul, Clifford, John (Mary Jo) and Robert (Feonia) Lannan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker and concelebrant Rev. Joseph Erbacher at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
