Cars vs water over the weekend, 2 OVWI arrests, kidnapping arrest in Vincennes

-No injuries when a vehicle hydroplaned from the roadway on State Road 57 and East 150-North in Washington at 4:25 Saturday afternoon.

-Police reports indicate vehicles were driving through high water at 100-west and 225-north even though road closed signs were posted.   Two vehicles were reported in the water at the location just after 5 on Saturday.  Also a pole had been struck by a vehicle and was leaning at the location.  There were no injuries reported.

-A hit and run was reported from a Bedford Road residence Sunday afternoon.  The incident involved a parked car.

-A window was reported busted on a Jeep Compass parked on Dewey Avenue Sunday afternoon.

-A Patoka, Indiana man was jailed in Washington on Saturday for Operating While Intoxicated and Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment.  No bond was set for 37-year-old Brett Carpenter.

-Sunday, 40-year-old Amanda S. Wininger of Washington was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Operating While Intoxicated with Endangerment.

 In Knox County…

A Vincennes man allegedly kidnapped a child under 14 and stole a car.  18-year-old Austin Heacock was arrest at Autumn Ridge Lane Sunday morning.  He’s charged with kidnapping and auto theft and was being held at the Knox County jail on a $10,000 bond.

-A Bicknell man was arrested early this morning for Residential Entry.  The arrest made by Bicknell Police after an incident on Alton Street.  Bond was set at $5,000.

-Vincennes Police arrested 43-year-old Christopher Eugene Thomas at 6th and College at 10-am Sunday morning.  He’s charged with Operating While Never Licensed.
