James Nelson, 71, of Loogootee, formerly of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.
He was born July 3, 1947 in Austin, Minnesota to the late Paul and Solvieg (Bjerkey) Nelson.
James was an avid model railroader and a car enthusiast. He was a member of the Loogootee Veteran of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Solvieg Nelson and brother, Tom Nelson.
James is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Wentworth) Nelson of Loogootee; sons, Brian (Samantha) Nelson of Loogootee and Jeffrey (Ann) Nelson of Cebu City, Philippines; grandchildren, Colin Nelson, Erin (Myron) Stoll, Shelby Nelson and Sophia Nelson; siblings, Stephen (Mary) Nelson, Kenneth (Rose) Nelson and Karen Nelson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
