Daviess driver flees Dubois crash

A motorist from Daviess County is being sought after an accident west of Haysville that happened on Sunday.

        The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department reported on Monday that the crash occurred about 1 on Sunday.  A yellow Ford Ranger was eastbound and for an unknown reason went left of center and ran off the north side of the road. A tire was lost and the truck flipped coming to rest on its side and the driver was believed to have been ejected.

        Dubois Deputies responded and found the driver had a cut to the head and he was told to walk to another vehicle at the scene but instead he ran into the woods on the south side of the road.

        A 2 and a half hour search ensued involving Dubois County, State Police, Conservation Officers, Huntingburg Police and the Martin County Sheriff’s Department and 3 k9s.

        The man could not be found and is believed to be from Daviess County.  His name was not released.
