Kenneth J. “Joe” Melvin passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence.
Joe was born on August 14, 1946 in Vincennes the son of Kenneth G. and Dorothy Louise (O’Brien) Melvin. He married Vickie Lynn Jackson in April of 1984.
Joe served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict and worked in the shipping and receiving department at Essex Wire retiring from there after thirty-nine years. He also was a member of the Vincennes Boat Club, liked to put model cars together, and enjoyed westerns and John Wayne programs.
Survivors include his wife Vickie Melvin of Vincennes; son Levi Melvin of Vincennes; daughter Amber Melvin; sister’s, Susan Parmenter of Vincennes, Sandee Haven and her husband Frank of Columbus, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation and Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the Melvin family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
