Washington’s School Board took time to honor in-coming senior Erik Hunter on his election as National Beta Club vice-president.  Hunter, who received a special letter of congratulations from Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly, addressed the board last night about his election and recent trip to Washington D.C.

Hunter told the Board that a highlight of his trip to the Nation’s Capital was getting to lay a special wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

In regular business the Board accepted resignations from elementary teachers, Alexis Nelson, Jennifer Smith, Heath Snider, and Amie Weyer.  The Board approved the appointments of elementary teachers Susannah Julian and Anthony Spinner.  Bill Turner will continue as the CEO instructor.

Superintendent Dr. Daniel Roach reminded patrons that on-site school registration for WHS and WJHS will be from 9 to 4 on July 23 (Mon) and from 1 to 7 on July 24 (Tues).

The Board will hold a special pre-school meeting at 5:30 p.m. July 31.
