Kathryn (Kay) Woods, 94, of Vincennes, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday July 7, 2018. She was born August 8, 1923 in Friendsville, IL the daughter of Clyde and Nellie (Price) Miller.
Kay married Raymond E. Woods on September 16, 1944 in Mt. Carmel, IL. She graduated form high school in Mt. Carmel and graduated from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing on October 6, 1944. She retired from nursing after twenty-nine years. After retirement Kay and her husband moved to Florida. They loved to travel and play golf. While in Vincennes Kay loved to listen to her books on tape from the state library. She was a member of the Word of Life Christian Church in Bicknell, IN.
Those who are cherishing her memory are; sister Maxine Dean; niece Bonnie Dean with whom she made her home. Nieces; Barbara and husband Gerald Stanley, Beverly Simone, Taylor and husband Ian Bryce. Nephews; Steve and wife Cathy Miller, Dr. Edward and wife George Ann Miller; Dr. David and wife Barbara Miller. Her special friends Wanda Throgmorton and four legged buddies Abby and Molly. Those greeting her in Heaven are, husband Raymond, her parents; brothers; Dr. Kermitt Miller and Lloyd Miller; niece Kathy Dean.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm est on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Highland Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL. Procession to the cemetery for funeral services we will begin at 1:00 pm est from Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Pastor John Moreland will be officiating graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Word of Life Church Bicknell, IN or the Vincennes Pet Port. Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN is honored to assist Kay’s family with arrangements.
