Eula Pauline White Rider died June 22, 2018, in Washington, Indiana, where she was born at home, 92 years ago on May 19, 1926.

She was the first daughter born to Charles William White and Fannie Eula Gaskey White. She was joined four years later by her sister, Virginia Rose, who predeceased her.

Pauline, as she preferred to be called, was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richard Rider. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Olan Utterback; her nieces Debra Utterback Ford (Doug), Tana Utterback Goff (John); and several grandnieces, grandnephews and their children.

In 1951 Pauline began her career working at Indiana Bell Telephone in Washington. She worked many years in Evansville and retired in 1979 at Vincennes. Pauline’s nieces called her “Auntie.” She never forgot a birthday or any special family event. For many years her nieces spent a week every summer with her in Evansville going to the museum, art galleries, long gone department stores and eating in some of Evansville’s favorite restaurants. Libs candy was a given! Trips to Spring Mill State Park were an annual treat and there was even one venture to a horse track in Kentucky. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.

The family will gather at a future date for a luncheon in Pauline’s memory.
