Woman flips car and is arrested; traffic stop ends in meth charges

-The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department charged 52-year-old Julie Sampson of Bloomington with Operating While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance on Wednesday. She was arrested after flipping her vehicle at US 50 and State Road 257.  Authorities were notified by a caller reporting a vehicle allegedly swerving all over the and into the median and then it flipped over.  Police reports say the crash involved minor entrapment.  Sampson was checked out at the hospital and then arrested and booked into the Daviess County Security Center. Bond was posted. The crash happened just before 8 Wednesday morning.

-Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Washington woman on warrants Wednesday. Bond was set at $5000 for 36-year-old Tara Demoss. She was jailed for Possession of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance, Trafficking with an Inmate and a Petition to Revoke a Suspended Sentence.

-Washington Police picked up 27-year-old Samantha Guy on a Writ of Attachment.  Bond was posted. She was arrested at a business on East National Highway at about 6 last evening.

-A Vincennes man was jailed in Daviess County Wednesday for Possession of Meth and Dealing Meth. Washington Police arrested 36-year-old James Yarbrough on the charges.  No bond was set at the Daviess County Security Center.  The arrest was the result of a 7:25pm traffic stop at Oak Grove Road and Cable Avenue.

 

-Police investigated a report Wednesday morning about a vehicle being burglarized.  The car was parked on Hefron and the owner said someone gained entry to the unlocked vehicle and stole a wireless speaker.

-At 6:42am Wednesday there was a report of an accident at State Road 257 and East 600-South. There were no injuries.

-No injuries in a two vehicle accident at 3:55 on State Road 57 near Chuckles.

-A motorist hit a parked car at 4:30-pm Wednesday on East Van Trees.
