Going to get hot

Some serious heat will arrive in Indiana this weekend.

An excessive heat watch is already in effect for northern Indiana for Friday and Saturday.

High temperatures return to the 90s Friday and will last through the weekend.

The humidity will also increase, which means heat index values will reach 100 degrees for three days in a row.

The “Feels Like” numbers around central Indiana will be near 105 degrees on Friday afternoon, 110 degrees on Saturday afternoon and 100 degrees again Sunday afternoon.

The hottest hours to avoid the outdoors will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

If you do have to be outside, be sure to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.

Rain chances return next week for central Indiana and surrounding areas, which likely means relief from the heat.
