Mary Lou Strange, age 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was born April 23, 1932 in Washington to Warren and Ada (Hopkins) Thomas. She had graduated from Washington High School in 1950, Vincennes University and Indiana University, with a degree in journalism. She had retired at Farm Service Agency in 1996 as a Program Compliance Clerk and was a member of Central Christian Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, watching sports and was a huge IU basketball Fan. She loved hosting and being a part of big family gatherings.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband Bill Strange, whom she married April 23, 1960; son, Steve (Tim Hutson) Strange of Yorktown; two daughters, Sally (Alan) Christie of Washington and Linda (Scott) Server of Indianapolis; sister, Maxine Killion of Washington; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Lemmon, Matt (Ashley) Christie, Vanessa (Brad) Kleinschmidt, Natalie Martin, Emily Martin, Sean Server, Selene Server and Seth Server; great grandchild, Alex Lemmon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel, 620 East Viola Ave, Washington, Indiana, with Pastor John Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Sugarland Memory Garden. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel.
