Republicans are in Evansville today for their state convention.
Republicans will formally nominate Secretary of State Connie Lawson, Treasurer Kelly Mitchell and Auditor Tera Klutz for another term. All three are unopposed. But there is some suspense over a vote on the party platform. Delegates will decide between a plank promoting “marriage between one man and one woman,”: and a version promoting strong families while avoiding the marriage issue.
Democrats will hold their convention next Saturday in Indianapolis.
