BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Police have increased patrols near the Islamic Center of Bloomington following reports of cars being vandalized during nightly Ramadan gatherings. The center’s members told Bloomington police that Sunday night’s vandalism of a car was the second such incident in the past week. Police are conducting extra patrols near the center, especially at night when members gather to break the daytime fasting during Islam’s observance of the holy month.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (NETWORK IN) –A lawsuit against the Evansville-Vanderburgh school district that claims the district discriminated against a transgender student, will go forward in court, reported The Indiana Lawyer website. The student, who is 16 and identifies as male, said in the suit that he was denied use of the men’s restroom and told he was to use either the women’s or a private restroom nearby. The district asked the judge to dismiss the suit. That was denied this week.
INDIANAPOLIS (NETWORK IN)–Wells Fargo is selling all of its Indiana branches, and all branches in Michigan and Ohio. The bank is cutting costs and trying to save money after several scandals have forced the company to cut costs and scale back its operations. The bank has 33 branches in the Hoosier State, all of which will be sold to Flagstar Bancorp. If you work for Wells Fargo in Indiana, the company says you will get an offer to work for Flagstar. The bank is dealing with soaring legal bills linked to a fake-accounts scandal and its many other troubles.
