Indiana’s Economy is Strong

Indiana’s economy continues to thrive, making the Hoosier state a great place to live and work. Our unemployment rate remains lower than both the national rate and the rates of all neighboring states, and we have the third-highest real per-capita income growth in the nation, according to the most recent data from the federal government’s Bureau of Economic Analysis. Additionally, Indiana has made several other economic achievements:

I’m pleased with the progress the Hoosier state continues to make, and as your state senator, I will continue to support policies that make Indiana a state that works.

Safe Swimming Tips

With temperatures warming up, more people are hitting the pools. The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) advises Hoosiers to take safety precautions when swimming in pools, lakes and other bodies of water. To reduce the risk of contracting or transmitting a recreational water illness, the ISDH encourages swimmers to avoid swallowing the water, shower before and after getting in the water, and thoroughly dry ears after swimming.

Swimmers should also take precautions to prevent sunburn and heat-related illnesses by applying sunscreen often and drinking plenty of fluids.
