Edward O. Schriefer, 81, of Wheatland, passed to be with his Lord on Saturday June 2, 2018 at Oak Village Nursing Home in Oaktown, Indiana.
Edward was born on August 21, 1936 in Evansville, Indiana to Omer F. and Viola E. (Rahn) Schriefer.
Ed grew up in Grandview, Indiana, then later in Wheatland Indiana where he graduated from Vincennes University. After serving in the Marine Corps, Ed eventually returned home to work at the Knox County Co-op in Wheatland.
Survivors include a brother-in-law Mack Broshears of Springfield, Nebraska, nephews: Rick (Wanda) Broshears of North Plate, Nebraska, Greg (Debbie) Broshears of Bennington, Nebraska, and Mike (Gayle) Broshears of Allen, TX; and a cousin, Don Brinkman of Boonville, IN. He also leaves behind neighbor and family friend Carla Anthis and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Broshears; a cousin, Melvin Brinkman; and a niece, Sharon Grimsley.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday June 5, 2018 at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lamar, Indiana. Goodwin Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
