Unemployment is steady

The latest unemployment numbers have Indiana and most area counties under the nation’s 3.9% rate.

        The state rate is 3.2% and Daviess County is a whole percentage point down from that at 2.2% for the month of April.  Gibson County tied with Daviess with 2.2.

        The lowest rate in the area still belongs to Dubois County checking at 2.0%.  They share that number with La Grange and Elkhart Counties.

        The highest rates in the region belong to Sullivan and Greene at 3.9 and 3.7 respectively.

        Knox County is at 2.7, Pike at 3.7 and Martin at 2.4.
