Prayer and Character events held Thursday

—About 400 turned out for the National Day of Prayer observance at the Daviess County Courthouse.

        Washington Mayor Joe Wellman made a special proclamation for the day and the Reverend Chris Byers prayed for a struggling nation asking for unity which was the theme for this year’s Day of Prayer across the nation.

        Other representing local government, law enforcement schools and churches offered prayers for those institutions.

 

 

       – Also held yesterday was a lunch for the Business of Character Program.

        The Washington Times Herald says officials from the schools and business community talked about the program which provides schools with resources to help youth and adults become more aware of having good character.  A panel discussion was also held discussing the importance on the Character Matters Programs.
