High Water Updates

State Road 358 west of Plainville and 257 south of Washington remain closed due to high water.

        River flood warnings continue.

A combination of rain and snow has fallen across central Indiana with less than an inch of liquid precipitation expected.  This will not affect ongoing flooding. Another round of rain is expected on today and tomorrow with heavier accumulations that may prolong or renew flooding.

Lowland flooding and elevated river levels will continue through much of next week in southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois.  Moderate flooding is expected along the lower stretches of the White and Wabash River with minor flooding occurring elsewhere.  Flooding will affect some local and state roads, agricultural land, river parks, and river cabins.

The White at Edwardsport should reach it’s expected crest of just under 22 feet today. At Petersburg the White is at 23.2 and will crest on Wednesday at 24.5. The East Fork White is nearing 20 feet.  It’s forecast to crest Wednesday at 23.1.  The Wabash at Vincennes is will crest at just above 19 feet today.
