Donald “Dusty” B. O’Brian, Jr.

Donald “Dusty” B. O’Brian, Jr., age 66, of Washington, passed away March 28, 2018.

He was born on January 9, 1956 in Lebonon, Indiana, to Donald and Theresa (Palmer) O’Brian. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1974 and was a United States Navy Veteran. He had worked for Indianapolis Power and Light, Petesburg Plant, for 37 years. He was a member of St Peter Catholic Church and the IBEW Union Local 1395 and held many positions such as, local president, local business manager, vice president, Indiana State AFL-CIO, founder and chairman of Labor Fest Indiana and Lobbyest for State and National IBEW.  He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Valentina (Shompal) O’Brian, whom he married, August 18, 2001; father, Donald O’Brian, Sr.; two sons, Donald (Megan) O’Brian, III of Washington and Dustin (Belinda) O’Brian of Montgomery; two daughters, Theresa O’Brian (Brock Marshall) of Washington and Marina (Andre) Yakimenko of Odesa, Ukraine; seven grandchildren, Arina Yakimenko, Yarimar Yakimenko, Riley Avery, Jackson O’Brian, Carter O’Brian, Evelyn O’Brian and Sabrina O’Brian; sister, Debbie LaRussa of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his mother; stepmother, Norma O’Brian, and Stepmother, Jeanne O’Brian.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father James Korressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
