Weekend Police Blotter

-At about 7-am Sunday, authorities were called about an property damage accident on State Street near Northeast 11th.   A construction sign was apparently in the middle of the road and a motorist did not see it in the dark and ran over it causing damage to the vehicle.

-Police, Fire and EMS crews were called to Southeast 4th at 7-pm last night in reference to smoke in some apartments.  A resident had left some food in the oven.  No injuries and no damage reported.

-Authorities investigated a theft report from CVS on Saturday morning.

-Authorities investigated a report of a side mirror being broken off of a vehicle on Front Street. That report was made at 1-am Sunday.  Authorities determined the damage was caused by a road cone that had either fallen from a truck or was thrown at the damaged car.

-There was a car deer crash on I69 at the 60 mile marker reported at 12:15 am Sunday.

-A Washington man was jailed Saturday for Operating While Intoxicated.  Bond for 46-year-old Ryan Wolf was set at $2000.

-Washington Police arrested 34-year-old Christopher T. Murray for Domestic Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury.  No bond was set.  The arrest was made Sunday.

-Indiana State Police arrested 47-year-old Clarence J. Chinn of Evansville on Sunday for being a Habitual Traffic Offender. Bond was posted.

 -A Vincennes Police investigation overnight resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Lisa Smedes and 22-year-old Quentin Owens.   Both are charged with Possessing Meth.  Smedes is also charged with Possession of a Synthetic Drug and Paraphernalia and with Visiting a Common Nuisance. Owens faces additional charges of Possession of Marijuana and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.  He was also wanted on an Out of County Warrant.

-Sunday morning the VPD arrested 41-year-old Travis King for Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle.

-Saturday, Joshua Sorter was arrested by Vincennes officers for Possession of Meth and Paraphernalia and Resisting Law Enforcement.
