Vondale Hopkins, 82, of Loogootee, passed away at 11:32 a.m. CST Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
She was born September 3, 1935 in Martin County, Indiana to the late Raymond and Alice (Street) Ziegler.
Vondale was a member of the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. Vondale babysat children for over 20 years and was proud of each child that she cared for. She loved her family, flowers, yard work, but her favorite past time was sitting on her porch with her husband, Jim.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; parents, Raymond and Alice (Street) Ziegler; siblings, Clara Denny, Juke Ziegler and Bob Ziegler.
Vondale is survived by her husband of 60 years, James L. Hopkins of Loogootee; daughters, Alice (Thomas) Stempf of Loogootee and Rose (Jeff) Popp of Jasper; grandchildren, Katie Stempf, John (Britny) Stempf and Matthew (fiancé, Lauren Sergesketter) Popp; great-grandchildren, Lilly Moffatt, Luke Bruner and Millie Popp; sister, Kay (Jerry) Sanders and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Truelove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
