It’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week

We are in the middle of Severe Weather Preparedness week. There will be a test tornado drill at 10:15 this morning for state and local officials to test their Emergency Alert Systems and plans and prepping to get ready for storm season.

The National Weather Service says they want you to know that when a warning is issued that means severe weather is occurring and possibly headed to where you area.  The thing to remember in a warning is to take action.  Go to your designated shelter or take cover.  You’ll hear the Emergency Alert System go off on your tv, radio or mobile device and you’ll hear outdoor warning sirens when a tornado or severe storm warning is issued.
