David E. Jones, age 61 of Washington, passed away at 6:35 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
He was born on July 9, 1954 in Vincennes, Indiana to Bertis and Alma Grace (Willis) Killion. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the Indiana Air National Guard. He had worked as a foreman for Nolan Construction before he had become disabled. He was a member of Loogootee American Legion and the Washington VFW. He enjoyed doing yardwork, gardening and was a big fan of Duck Dynasty and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce “Jodi” (Wathen) Jones, whom he married, May 21, 1988; three sons, Chuck (Bethann) Hembree of Shoals, Kevin (Stephen) Hembree-Brown of Hawesville, Kentucky and Thomas (Karen) Bevers of Washington; three daughters, Amy (Lee) Cole of Elwood, Indiana, Connie Carlson and Amanda Tornabeni, both of Loogootee; three brothers, Ch arles Jones of Winslow, Buryl Godwin of California and Roger Killion of Washington; sister, Anna Killion of Washington; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special grandson, Dakota “Little Davey” and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Carol Ochs.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. John Simmons officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
