James “Jim” E. McCarter, 79, of Vincennes, IN, passed away February 20, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
A graduate of the University of Evansville, Jim had retired from Schott Gemtron Corp., where he was the controller. An Army veteran, he was a member of the American Legion. Jim was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Born November 19, 1938, in Bruceville, IN, he was the son of Harold “Jack” and Maxine (Phillippe) McCarter. His parents preceded him.
Surviving is his wife, Jane (Fellows) McCarter, whom he married June 21, 1969; his daughter, Kathleen McCarter and her husband, Tom Connelly, of Centreville, VA; and his grandchildren, Katelyn and Jacob Connelly.
Friends may visit with Jim’s family from 5:00 – 8:00 on Thursday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at St. James Episcopal Church at 10:00 on Friday. Interment will follow in Bruceville Cemetery.
