Jean was born February 20, 1952 to the late Thomas A. and Bernadette George nee, Dobson in Jeffersonville, IN.  Jean was a 1970 graduate of Shoals High School and was wed to her high school sweetheart Stephen “Steve” Sims shortly after on July 2, 1971.  Jean had various jobs throughout the years but home healthcare was her calling and she worked in that field for many years .  During this time Steve and Jean had three children; Lori Sims, April Horn (Erich), and David Sims (Rachel).  After Jean became a grandmother her life changed greatly, they were her reason for living.  She logged many miles to see them, support them, and enjoy their activities.  Her face lit up at just the mention of their names; they were they true loves of her life.  The grandchildren that were so dear to Jean are; Abby Horn, Brennan Sims, Kylie Sims, Mason Sims and Colyn Sims.

Jean had a passion for all youth and spent many years as a youth leader at her former church and prepared countless meals while working at Nipgen camp.  The last 18 years have been spent assisting her husband in the pastoring of Shiloh Church of God.
