School Safety will be the subject of a public forum tonight at Loogootee High School. The Loogootee School Corporation’s safety protocol had to be put in place last Friday when students were sent home following threats that turned out to be non-viable.  Two students were taken into custody as a result of the incident.  The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says a student who made a ‘careless remark about a firearm’ believed to be meant as a prank or joke.  To be safe students were sent home and the building search, nothing was found.

Tonight’s forum, meant to provide more information about school safety is set for 6pm at Loogootee High School’s Auditorium.
