Rivers are forecast to rise to a few feet above flood stage this week.
The recent and future rains are the cause for high waters along low land areas. The National Weather Service says the next round of rainfall will start tonight and the chance for rain will be over Indiana through Wednesday. The heaviest rainfall is expected to remain north and northwest of Interstate 70 through Tuesday morning, then shift southeast for Tuesday afternoon and evening.
A Flood Warning for the White River at Edwardsport will be in effect tomorrow night until further notice. The White at Petersburg is expected to rise above the 16 foot flood stage tomorrow and continue to rise and be at over 19 feet by this time next week.
